STOP PAYMENTS
Stop Payments are offered on all checking accounts to prevent a check from posting to your account. A stop payment form must be filed with the bank by phone, by 24 / 7 Online Banking or by stopping in to see a representative at the bank. If you choose to place the stop payment by phone, the stop payment form must be signed within 14 days.
The stop payment will remain in effect for a) six months; b) until payment of the entry has been stopped; or c) until written notice is received by the account holder to withdraw the stop payment request, whichever occurs earliest. The account holder may renew this request after the stop payment has expired by completing a new stop payment order. For recurring ACH debits, the order will stop one payment only and will NOT stop future recurring debits.
The fee for a stop payment is $10.00 for either a paper check, for an ACH or for an electronic debit. This fee will be deducted directly from your account upon placement of the stop payment.
